In accordance with protocols of old, I pay my respects to the sacred meeting grounds of Sinave, Uluomato’otua ma Fa’atoialemanu the personal residence of Malietoa. I pay my respects to the sacred meeting grounds of Malie & Vaito’elau the cultural residential capital of Malietoa.

I pay my respects to all the sacred meeting grounds of Samoa & the Pacific who mourn the death of a Head of State, a Paramount Chief, a father, a leader, even a King of Samoa

I acknowledge the weight of sorrow that now falls on all the families with genealogical bonds to the Aiga Sa Malietoa and the Aiga Sa Tupua

Tulouna the passing away of His Majesty le Afioga le Tapaau Fa’asisina

Tulouna the final journey of His Royal Highness lau Susuga i le Malietoa

Tulouna the loss of His Excellency the Head of the Independent State of Samoa

He will be forever remembered as a humble leader who was able to avoid bloodshed and war, and unite all of Samoa in the pursuit of becoming an independent state of the Pacific, which Samoa was first to achieve in 1962.
