Global event unfolds LIVE on C4 this weekend

This weekend - witness an unprecedented global event unfold LIVE on C4.

Pharrell Williams and Lenny Kravitz in Rio de Janeiro, Snoop Dogg and Shakira in Hamburg, Linkin Park and Rihanna in Tokyo, Wolfmother, Crowded House and Jack Johnson in Sydney, Joss Stone in Johannesburg, Metallica at Wembley along with a re-united Spinal Tap - and Smashing Pumpkins in New York.........

...LIVE EARTH should make for an impressively ginormous global event and provides for, in the words of Mike D of the Beastie Boys "a real chance to get the collective consciousness of almost the entire world focused on the topic."

C4 is more than proud to be the exclusive New Zealand broadcast partner - and will be screening the 24 hour "concerts for a climate in crisis" live from 8pm this Saturday 7.7.07

Around the country various environmental groups and members of the public are planning activites to mark 7.7.07 "Live Earth Day" - 'Friends of Live Earth’ events are been held in private homes and registered at http://www.liveearth.org/friends_of_le.php , and in Auckland "Aotearoa Live", a coalition of Kiwi environmental groups is organising a day of action starting at Aotea Square at 2pm on the 7th of July. Groups in Wellington, Christchurch and other regions throughout the country will also be making themselves heard...so keep your eyes open!
