Lines strike called off
Engineering, Printing and Manufacturing Union members at electrical lines company Tenix have withdrawn their notice of strike action after the company substantially increased its offer.
As a sign of good faith the workers withdrew their notice, which was to include an overtime and on-call ban, yesterday and will return to the negotiating table tomorrow and Thursday.
Tenix is the sole maintenance provider for lines-company Powerco and many of the negotiating EPMU members were involved in restoring power in Taranaki after the recent tornado damage.
