'Agenda' brings News and Current Affairs to Sunday Mornings

TVNZ's influential political interview programme, Agenda, is moving from its Saturday morning slot. From September 16, Agenda will screen at 10am on Sunday mornings. In addition to in-depth political analysis, and interviews with leading opinion makers, the new-look Agenda will feature news, sport and weather updates and regular arts and entertainment stories.

TVNZ Head of News and Current Affairs Anthony Flannery says that the new timeslot will make Agenda accessible to more viewers, and introduce a much-needed news and current affairs component into Sunday morning viewing.

"Agenda's new timeslot will strengthen the programme, and is a further extension of our commitment to providing news and current affairs to New Zealanders anytime and anywhere. With a general election around the corner, Agenda is well placed to set the news agenda over what will be a critical 12-month period in national politics."

Agenda is hosted by Rawdon Christie, with ONE News Political Editor Guyon Espiner conducting the political interviews of the day. Former Eyewitness News presenter Karen Sims joined Agenda earlier this month as producer, and veteran broadcaster Richard Harman is the executive producer. Award-winning arts journalist Josie McNaught has also joined the team.

Agenda features interviews with headline-makers from politics, business and the media, the latest news, sports and weather updates, arts and entertainment features, a panel discussion, and a weekly trip to gauge opinion at a neighbourhood dairy.
