PRESS STATEMENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

17 SEPTEMBER 2007

“BISHOP BRIAN TAMAKI TO MAKE MAJOR POLITICAL ANNOUNCEMENT”

Bishop Brian Tamaki, the Senior Minister of Destiny Churches New Zealand, is set to make a major announcement regarding his political future, and that of the Destiny New Zealand political party.

“It is widely known that I have held strong political views that have been expressed over recent years both personally and in support of the Destiny New Zealand political party. My views derive from a genuine concern with the direction our nation has been heading under the Labour-led Government.”

“Based on some very positive political developments within the wider church community over the last 3-4 months, we have arrived at a point where the future of the Destiny New Zealand political vehicle has needed to be reviewed. My announcements will relate not only to the Destiny New Zealand Party but also to my political role looking towards 2008 and beyond.”

A press conference involving Bishop Brian Tamaki and Richard Lewis (Leader – Destiny New Zealand Party) will take place at 1pm on Tuesday 18th September 2007 at Destiny Church Auckland, located at 18 Allright Place Mt Wellington.

The press conference will also broadcast live on the Internet via www.destinychurch.org.nz
