Exhaust Emissions Update

Transport Select Committee:

The Transport and Industrial Relations Select Committee has requested the Minister (Judith Tizard) to appear before it on Thursday 6th December to answer questions relating to the Vehicle Exhaust Emissions Rule.

Thanks to National's Maurice Williamson, and all members (especially Paul Lethbridge) who have canvassed their MPs.

Regulations Review Select Committee:

We are submitting a formal complaint to the Regulations Review Committee.

We are not yet sure of timing or likely outcome of this review, but this will be the opportunity to have the Exhaust Emissions Rule properly scrutinised.

Our lobbying of all MPs has proved effective.

We have also continued to extensively lobby the media.
