Media release from Revolting Books library collective supporting yesterday's Operation 8 arrestees

Members of Wellington Revolting Books anarchist library collective were shocked and angered when they heard of further arrests today related to the police invasion of Ruatoki last October.

"The people of Tuhoe are being persecuted," a collective member said. "It's been barely four months since the state invaded their homes in a classic display of colonial power. October 15th would have been a day of festivities for all our old-fashioned racists and nationalists. We feel great sadness and anger that the state are continuing their harassment of Tuhoe people. It's as if no-one in power knows anything about the history of Aotearoa, Tuhoe or imperialism. Naa wai i tara ai te wai? Howard Broad, Helen Clark and the like need to read up and talk to some people outside their rich white circle of elites.

"The Revolting Books collective sends their unconditional support, solidarity and love to the arrested and their families, to the people of Tuhoe, and to others being persecuted by the state."
