Putting Homlessness In Focus
Press Release: Methodist City Action
Putting
Homlessness In Focus
"Bringing together the ideas of those
who have worked with,
researched, and lived homeless,
PUTTING HOMELESSNESS IN FOCUS explores
the impact of this
hidden problem on the many New Zealanders who
experience
it, and on the society that fails to recognise
it."
Methodist City Action will host a koha screening of
this documentary
about homelessness in New Zealand with
film-makers Charlie Bleakley
(threedollarpictures) and
Kate Amore (University of Otago) on Friday
27th June, at
6pm. The screening will be followed by discussion
time
with local researchers and professionals involved in
working with
homelessness in Hamilton. Koha will be
given to the Hamilton
Christian Nightshelter.
This
event is open to all – public, government and
non-government
agencies, and those who have experienced
homelessness. We encourage
the Waikato community to come
along and learn more about this often
misunderstood, and
marginalized community.
Venue: Methodist Centre, London Street, Hamilton.
