Minister for Infrastructure appointment welcomed
The New Zealand Contractors’ Federation has welcomed the appointment of Hon Bill English as Minister for Infrastructure.
Chief Executive Richard Michael described the appointment as a “great choice”.
“To have the second ranked Cabinet Minister appointed to this important new role is heartening and we congratulate the new National Government. We are delighted they followed through on their election promise of establishing this new portfolio.
“We now look forward to working closely with Mr English to help formulate the national 20-year Infrastructure Plan, another key policy plank.”
Mr Michael also welcomed the opportunity to work with new Minister of Transport Steven Joyce, saying “he’s obviously a very capable individual and will be a key player in what is looking like a very strong team”.
