Market and Services to visit New Zealand

McCreevy, European Commissioner for Internal Market and
Services and formerly Ireland's Minister of Finance, will
visit New Zealand from 29-31 October 2009.
Mr McCreevy is responsible for reform of European financial regulation and supervision, in the aftermath of the global financial and economic crisis.
He also implements the European Single Market - ensuring services and markets throughout the EU are free, open and function smoothly.
The European Union’s NZ$ 25 trillion economy is the biggest in the world.
In Wellington, Commissioner McCreevy is expected to meet Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bill English, as well as Dr Bollard, Reserve Bank Governor and Mr Whitehead, Secretary of the Treasury. Mr McCreevy will also pay a call on the Opposition.
In Auckland, media are welcome to join the business community to hear directly from Commissioner McCreevy at 9am on Friday 30 October 2009. This event is hosted by the Auckland Chamber of Commerce at the Northern Club.
Mr McCreevy will be available for media interview and comment in Auckland on Friday morning, 30 October.
