Zero Emissions NOW

Zero Emissions NOW

A day promoting renewable resource energy, alternative fuels and zero emission transport is to be staged at Te Manawa in Palmerston North on Wellington Anniversary Day 2010.

ZeroNOW is an opportunity for local businesses, people, organisations, engineers, technologists, designers, greenies and conservationists to demonstrate what they are doing now in response to the issues of global warming, climate change and diminishing natural resources.

Organised by local Technology Company, Zero Emission Vehicles Ltd (ZEV), the day brings together renewable resource energy, alternative fuels, zero emission technology, and “kiwi skill and ingenuity”, says ZeroNOW spokesperson Jon Hogan.

“In Copenhagen they’re talking percentages sometime in the future.

“What we are saying is, here and now. If we reduce by even a small percentage today, and continue to reduce year after year. In ten years from now, we’ll be well ahead of any Copenhagen goals, without emissions trading taxes.

“What is needed is support from the highest level for development of renewable resource energy technology.”

The ZeroNOW Day exhibition is at Te Manawa on Anniversary Day, Monday 25 January 2010, at Te Manawa on Main Street in Palmerston North.

“Enquiry is being welcomed from all quarters. From people who are doing things, people with ideas. The Corporate sector, solar technology, methane gas, bio fuels. It’s a day so the public can see what is available now, and what the future will hold.”
