Kiwi Party leader Larry Baldock supported the Prime Minister’s commitment to keep our SAS troops in Afghanistan.
"New Zealand has a proud history of sending troops to help in troubled areas of the world," he said.
"In the major conflicts of the last century our soldiers were highly regarded for their skill and bravery. Since every soldier we have has chosen the army as a career and trained for real combat, it must be embarrassing for them to hear that some politicians would have them serve only in places where they would never fire a shot.
"Peace
keeping and reconstruction are important roles in which the
NZ Armed Forces have an excellent reputation, but we cannot
always avoid conflict if we are to play our part in
protecting our freedom," said Mr Baldock.
The Kiwi Party
salutes our brave troops!
