Pool Decision a Win for Our Children

Pool Decision a Win for Our Children & Healthy Communities

Today’s decision by the Christchurch City Council to award the successful tender to the St Albans Pavilion and Pool group and St Albans Swim Club, is courageous and a win for our children.

That from Pavilion and Pool group spokesman, Craig Dickson who is understandably ecstatic.

“Now we can move forward, beyond the hurt and destruction of the last few years and start rebuilding for the future of the children, families and schools in our community,” says Mr Dickson.

Mr Dickson adds that of course the pool will be open to everyone across the city and with so few outdoor pools still left in Christchurch, he is sure those who prefer an outdoor swimming experience will visit the Edgeware Pool and enjoy 21st century facilities.

“We are now committed to developing this land into a swimming facility that will provide a place, once again, where children and families can meet, spend the day or a few hours, learn to swim and enjoy the experience that only an outdoor suburban pool can offer,” he says.
