A Dark Day for Democracy

A Dark Day for Democracy
a k a
Open
Sesame!
When Kiwis voted National in
Act rubbed
their hands with glee
The dodgy Rogers, Kerr &
Douglas
Moving sneakily with alacrity.
Auckland soon
was gobbled up
The Key was Rodney Hide
Act snidely
peed on Andrew
That made it an easy ride
Gerry Brownlee
boldly told us
"The Coromandel will be mined
Great
Barrier doesn't need those trees,
The Yanks are our new
honey bees"
Yeah, and toxic tailings right!
Has Gerry
lost his mind?
The thin edge of the wedge you see
Is
not that slim at all
Extracting gold for
America?
Toxic waste - our sole reward
Eco-Friendly
Mining?
A contradiction in terms
Such gravitas abuse
of Earth -
No trees, no birds, no worms
This silent
spring of greedy men
Into the kiwi larder
Means that
billions go offshore and yet
We kiwis just work
harder
To comply with all their antics
First new laws
and then new prisons
(See Brash is back - Mark Prebble
too)
Men blinded by bad vision
Now lets get to the
issue
That inspired these chosen words
'A dark day
for democracy'
We blinked - and then we heard
The last
good water on the globe
They nicked it - what?
Absurd!
They kiboshed Ecan - just like that
Without a
bloody word.
Farmer Creech just quietly screeched
And
overnight closed Ecan.
Those greedy snouts in every
trough
You wonder now if we can
Herd them into tiny
pens
And fatten them for market
Tell them how we've
had enough
Their way the country carks it!
Time to
expose who really is
Behind these nasty plots
The
dodgy Rogers' last time round
Roundtabled the whole
lot!
Kiwis are distracted
As they always easily
are
By rugby games, but hang on chaps
You seen the
score so far?
Some sixty squillion dollars
And the
goals? Now let us see -
Dirty rivers, ravaged land?
Or
paradise - its your decree!
To steal a country's
easy
Look how Bush ambushed Iraq
Act's Shock & Awe has
stunned us all
We're fumbling in the dark
Our sharp
intakes - though audible
Leave no breath to
exclaim
First Winz new spin and ACC
The cost of food -
more GST
Do you see who's to blame?
Before ranks could
be formed to fight
These greedy louts nicked all our
rights
The Garden City awoke to learn
The hoses are
dry but there's milk to burn
You can't drink money,
You can't eat it either
Once the water's
polluted
The planet suffers forever
By changing laws
just overnight
And wrongly making bad laws right
We'll
lose the lot - drowned in this puddle
John has the Key -
but what a muddle!
Do we give way to left or right?
Or
are we dazzled by bright lights
And melamined milk and
toxic tailings?
Well, watch the score - can the AB's
make
it?
