Charitable Trust Appeals Decision
Charitable Trust Appeals Charities Commission Decision In High Court
The Draco Foundation (NZ) Charitable Trust has filed an appeal in the High Court against a decision by the Charities Commission to deny them charitable entity status.
The Foundation joins a growing number of dissatisfied organisations, spurned by the Commission because of alleged anti-Government behaviour.
The action is being led by Whiteriea Community Law Centre, who are providing their services on a pro-bono basis.
The Foundation promotes the principles of democracy to the local government sector and to communities across New Zealand. They run the websites www.councilwatch.org.nz and the National Residents’ Association Database (www.residents.org.nz).
Jarrod Coburn is a trustee of the Draco Foundation (NZ) Charitable Trust.
