Holiday activities- Helping to vote!
Holiday activities- Helping to vote!
"Press Release"
'As a fun holiday activity parents can teach their children all about democracy and the local body elections!
Parents can provide the candidate names for investigation and research on the Internet and then parents and children can discuss what they find.
After that parents can show their off-spring what the voting papers look like and how to fill them out after carefully reading the instructions.
Once all that is done, and to compensate for all the sitting about, everyone can go for a walk to the nearest post box and post off the voting papers.
Better still, if everyone is going on a trip take the voting papers with you so that everything can be done while still on holiday, particularly if the weather is not great.
Voting papers need to be in the post by about 7 October for the midday 9 October deadline and for last minute official help everyone can phone 0800 36 76 56 from anywhere!
Cheers,
Thomas Morgan Southern Ward candidate, Wellington City Council election.'
