Grey Power On Aged Care Report
Grey Power On Aged Care Report
Grey
Power’s call for the establishment of an independent Aged
Care Commission and Commissioner has been supported and
endorsed by the Greens and Labour in the recently released
Report into Aged Care.
Grey Power has long campaigned for an overhaul of Aged Care services and has vigorously lobbied to have an Aged Care Commission established to oversee and co-ordinate the various services. Recently, the Labour and Green parties joined forces with Grey Power to investigate the quality of rest homes and home support services and have discovered evidence of acute problems in Aged Care nationally. The resulting report highlights a desperate need for change.
Grey Power’s National President, Roy Reid hopes that the Report’s list of key recommendations is adopted in order to deliver appropriate care to older New Zealanders.
