On Q + A this
Sunday
Just six and a half months out from the election, the rubber hits the road. This is a Q+A you don’t want to miss. We start by unpacking the political and economic implications of the Budget and then look at whether Labour can turn around its polling.
Guyon Espiner looks at the so-called “Zero Budget”. Is it a sound prescription to give us hope or a whack in the hip pocket just when we need it most? Is this a government with a prudent, ambitious plan or one that “cuts, borrows and sells” for the sake of the rich? The views are polarizing; we’ll get answers from the Finance Minister, Bill English.
Labour leader Phil Goff will be live from the floor of the Labour Party Congress in the Wellington Town Hall. What are his alternatives for growth in tough times? Can he overcome his party’s woeful poll numbers?
On the panel with Dr Jon Johansson are former Labour Party president Mike Williams and former deputy Prime Minister under Jenny Shipley, Wyatt Creech.
Q+A, 9-10am Sundays on TV ONE
Repeats at 9.10pm Sundays,
10.10am and 2.10pm Mondays on TVNZ 7
