Dame Kiri Te Kanawa performs in Jerusalem
Despite appeals from Palestinian and Jewish activists groups to Dame Kiri Te Kanawa to abandon her plans to sing at the Israel festival the soprano performed last Saturday (the 4th of June) to an ecstatic audience in Jerusalem. After her performance Dame Kiri quoted that :”she thoroughly enjoyed her return to Israel and was delighted with the audiences’ response to her own and Phillip Rhodes’ performances. She hopes she will have the opportunity to consider a return to the Israel Festival at some future date”.
