Blackmores welcomes progress on NZ Natural Health
Products Bill
Leading natural health company, Blackmores, has welcomed the tabling of the Natural Health Products Bill in the New Zealand Parliament this week and applauds the New Zealand Government for developing a stand-alone framework for the regulation of natural health products.
“We look forward to working with the government through Natural Products New Zealand on the development of an effective regulatory framework, said Ms Alison Quesnel, Blackmores General Manager, New Zealand.
Blackmores supports the establishment of a separate regulatory authority, staffed by appropriately qualified people, to oversee the regulation of complementary medicines.
“We fully appreciate there is a demonstrable need for the natural health products industry to be appropriately regulated. Consumers need to have access to safe, quality products that are responsibly marketed.
