MANA says NO to new Police DNA seizing powers and Nazi tactics

The MANA Party is completely against outrageous new powers allowing the Police to seize DNA from any New Zealander arrested due to be implemented just after the election.
"MANA days that if you are convicted of a serious crime, the Police have the right to take your DNA, but to allow the Police to take DNA for simply being arrested is an abuse of power and MANA advise any New Zealander forced into handing over their DNA for simply being arrested to lay formal complaints with MANA to take to the UN as forced DNA samples from arrests are a breach of our UN obligations not to mistreat people in custody. The Police have previously used 'Nazi tactics' to con youth into handing over their DNA, this new law by the Government makes those Nazi tactics standard practice."
