Capitalism: "Good" and "Bad"?

Capitalism: "Good" and "Bad"?

Capitalism has been described as “the least worst” economic system and it is both applauded and deplored. Some even think that, like cholesterol, there are two kinds of capitalism – "good" and "bad". Getting an adequate appraisal of this dynamic core of Western society is complicated by the fact that every implementation of capitalism involves compromises and distortions.

To help us critique capitalism, next week's guest In Conversation with Noel Cheer on Triangle/Stratos Television is a senior lecturer from Auckland University’s Department of Sociology, Dr. Campbell Jones. In a forthcoming book he will ask "can the Market speak?"

Stratos Television, Nationwide: Monday December 5th at 8:00pm (repeated Wednesday, December 7th at 6:30am and Thursday, December 8th at 1:00pm).
Stratos is found on Sky Digital Channel 89 and Freeview Channel 21.
Stratos is found also on Telstraclear Cable Channel 89 in Wellington, Kapiti and Christchurch and nationwide on the streaming television website ecasttv.co.nz.

Triangle Television, Auckland (UHF Channels 41, 42 and 52): Wednesday December 7th at 7:00pm (repeated Thursday December 8th at 1:00pm)
