Recent reports of Israel's deliberate flooding of large populated areas of Gaza "highlights the purpose of the team of 4 Kiwi volunteers joining next month's international aid convoy to break the siege of Gaza," says Kia Ora Gaza team leader, Roger Fowler.
Gaza's lack of building materials, due to the crippling blockade, has led the war-battered infrastructure of Gaza to further deteriorate as it struggles to cope with the floods. Gazan's claim that Israel is "systematically destroying Gaza's environment" to force the people to flee their land.
The Viva Palestina6 aid convoy to Gaza, the first to comprise construction vehicles and equipment, will depart London with the Kia Ora Gaza team on 22 April 2012.
