Crafar Sale Appalling Leadership

Conservative Party Leader Colin Craig says the Government's announcement to continue with the Crafar Farms sale despite an overwhelming majority of New Zealanders being opposed to it* (see research attached), is appalling leadership.

"This decision is yet more evidence the Government is continuing to forget that its job is to serve the will of the people" says Mr Craig.

With 84% of New Zealanders polled opposing the sale* (see research attached), the inclusion of the Conservative Party in Parliament can’t come soon enough.

The Conservative Party has as one of its main policies binding referenda to prevent the Government going against the will of the people in cases such as this.

Mr Craig says, "Pushing through the sale of farms, state assets, and making casino deals, is not good leadership when the people oppose it."

"Good leadership is about taking the people with you, not forcing an agenda," he says
