Waitangi Tribunal Hearing on the Future of Kōhanga Reo
Final Days of the Waitangi Tribunal Hearing on the Future of Kōhanga Reo
On Monday 23 April and Tuesday 24 April 2012, Te Kōhanga Reo National Trust Board will submit its closing submissions to the Waitangi Tribunal on the future of Kōhanga Reo.
The Trust Board claims that the Crown has treated Kōhanga reo like an Early Childhood Education provider, contributing to the ongoing mainstreaming of Kōhanga reo by the Crown imposing regulations and requirements that have undermined Kōhanga reo whanau and kāupapa.
The closing submissions will be heard at the Te Kōhanga Reo National Trust premises, at 67 Hankey Street, Wellington CBD, Wellington.
The Crown will present its closing submissions to the Waitangi Tribunal on 26 April and 27 April 2012.
