Stop Paying for Others' Lifestyle Choices say Conservatives
Colin Craig, Leader of the Conservative Party, has responded to the Government’s announcement that it will be funding a new long term contraceptive option for some women.
“While we support greater choice, the provision of taxpayer funding for contraception is in fact one person paying for another person’s lifestyle choice,” Mr Craig said.
“Isn’t it time people started taking responsibility for their own choices?”
“Why should a seventy year old, who has had the same partner all their life, have to pay for a young woman who wants to sleep around?”
“People should be responsible for the consequences, and for meeting the cost of their own lifestyle choices.”
“The Conservative Party is saying it’s time for people to take personal responsibility for their own choices.”
“Another ambulance at the bottom of the cliff but not a long term solution,” says Mr Craig.
