Call for NZ To Support the Pussy Riot Campaign

Neo-Kalashnikovs Call for NZ To Support the Pussy Riot Campaign.

As the global campaign to free Russian punk band "Pussy Riot" is heating up Auckland Rock bands are lending their music to support the cause

NZ Rock Bands The Neo-Kalashnikovs, Victim of Tradition, The Eastern Flowers, Freaky Meat and Gringo Starr are holding an all ages event this Saturday the 18th of August 7.30pm at the St Barnabas Scout hall in Mt Eden to campaign.

Volita Pearl lead singer of The Neo-Ks feels very passionately about this cause "I believe that they deserve freedom of speech like any other artist in the world does, why is the New Zealand music scene so quiet? Does no one care? "It's our responsibility as a forward thinking nation to support our fellow musicians in their time of need."Maybe they went to far with their punk prayer stunt but it was an artistic stunt and they do not deserve three years behind bars, we want them to know that New Zealand is there for them."
