Christchruch: Picket outside WINZ 12 October
PRESS RELEASE CHCH AGAINST WELFARE REFORMS 12th October Picket outside WINZ at 78 Riccarton Rd
We are asking
for public support for this weeks picket in Christchurch.
Outside WINZ at 78 Riccarton Rd 1pm Friday 12th Oct.
beneficiaries, low income workers and supporters will be
protesting against the Welfare Reforms BIll. Last weeks
action was a lively and positive demonstration and we are
wanting to repeat this again.
These reforms are a punitive and vicious attack on all working class people and they will only make the most vulnerable families even more so. The National party is creating more inequity and greater stigma for all people and families needing income support. Many single parents have already received letters outlining their requirements under the Welfare Reform bill, whilst Paula Bennett is telling us that it is only those 'most vulnerable families who will need to meet new requirements' all those receiving income support are being targeted. See attached flyer for more info.
