CERA information on MSD system
The Ministry of Social Development (MSD) has advised the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority that one part of the corporate information that was accessible through the self-help kiosk system was an area storing scanned invoices.
Acting chief executive of CERA, Warwick Isaacs, says this would apply to invoices paid by MSD on behalf of CERA to its suppliers, and relates to information held by MSD between December 2011 and last week.
It is not known if the information was viewed, but Mr Isaacs says CERA will be advising its creditors of the potential breach where appropriate.
All invoices in regard to the CBD demolitions, as well as residential Red Zone property settlements and any personal details of Red Zone home owners, are stored outside the MSD system and have not been accessed.
