The People's Choice Endorse Lianne Dalziel For Mayor
The largest local body grouping in Christchurch, the People's Choice, is giving Lianne Dalziel's Mayoral bid their full endorsement.
"It gives us great hope for our city," says People's Choice chairperson Paul McMahon, "Over the years, Lianne has always fought hard for the people of Christchurch and the values that we share. We fully endorse her bid for the mayoralty."
The People's Choice (formerly Christchurch 2021) formed the core of the award-winning, consensus-driven councils of 1992-2003, and Mr McMahon says, "We want to lead a rebuild that puts people first."
"Our campaign is focused on changing the Council and extending our leadership on the Community Boards. We're looking forward to working with Lianne around the Council table to make the changes that the city needs."
