Hutt City Councils triennial pre-election report
Hutt City Council released its first pre-election report today in a three minute video. The video showcases key work being carried out by the council and points people to an online report.
The purpose of the report is to promote public discussion about the issues facing the council, and is mainly aimed at candidates enrolling in the local body elections.
Chief Executive, Tony Stallinger, says that most of the projects and issues addressed on the video are not new, having been identified in councils Long Term Plan and Urban Growth Strategy.
The report also provides useful background for voters to help people make informed choices when voting for candidates at the coming local council elections.
‘’This report looks at councils vision, financial performance and strategies and major projects for the next three years.’’
‘’Our vision is for Lower Hutt to be a great place to live, work and play. We want to lead a city that people are proud of, a family-friendly place with a vibrant economy.’’
‘’We want to do the right thing now for our future generations.’’
The report and video can be viewed on the council website: http://www.huttcity.govt.nz/elections-2013
