"Mega Conspiracy" A New Feature Documentary on Kim Dotcom

IndieGoGo Crowd-Funding will finance new film about copyright infringement, the Hollywood-Washington Axis, SWAT-Teams Gone Wild, U.S. bullying Kiwis, and a large German fellow.

ALBANY, New Zealand -- UK-trained filmmaker Paul Madden has known Kim Dotcom since 1990's. "He was in his 20's and already making, and spending, millions on yacht charters and 'LARGE' living. I had never met anyone like him, which remains true today. He has an electric enthusiasm and a zest for life that is uplifting. On top of that, he is extremely bright and engaging. Everybody likes him (with a few notable exceptions!). At the same time, he is a rogue and a bit of a rascal. I always imagined that he would have been a great character in a movie.... and now he will be!"

But will he be the villain, or the hero? A victim, a martyr, or a savior? Time will tell. But Madden feels very strongly that this is a story that needs to be told because it brings to light a number of critical issues that need to be addressed. "This is not just about copyright infringement," explains Madden, "which occurs millions of times every day in libraries, garage sales and at Kinkos and on Ebay. It is about the axis between Hollywood and Washington. It is about U.S. bullying. It is about privacy rights, personal liberty and due process, DOJ and FBI accountability. It is about venturing to far-away New Zealand to do something that the government wouldn't dare attempt in Silicone Valley."

It will also question DOJ accounting practices - "Are the miscreants who share files the kind of folks who would otherwise pay for this content?" asks Madden, "Or, are they only viewing these files because they are "free"? That is the $64. question (or the $640 million question!). And if these 'stolen' revenues did get to Hollywood, what percentage of each dollar would actually reach 'poor starving actors and filmmakers'???"

Madden proclaims that he is a 7th generation Yankee, and a direct descendant of a signer of the Declaration of Independence. "There is a long-forgotten battle cry from our War of Independence - “Give me Liberty, or give me Death!”, he gestures. "My generation hit the streets in the 60's protesting loudly, with some casualties (Kent State). We shut down the universities and eventually helped end the Vietnamese incursion.

Now it's this generation's obligation, to stand up and be heard."

Madden is certain that Hollywood does not want this film made, or distributed. Madden is pursuing crowd-funding through IndieGoGo, for what he describes as, "...a variety of economic and political reasons, as I’m sure you can appreciate."?? He intends to enlist students from some of the world’s top international (documentary) film schools to take on segments of this story. By involving students - he expects to get better access than he would with known filmmakers. I think people cut more slack when its students. They can be more aggressive and probing with their questions..."

Subjects to be examined might include:?

- Is there a The Washington-L.A. AXIS?

-Who are Chris Dodd and the MPAA?

-Who are Hollywood’s “Friends” on Capital Hill and the White House?

-Does Hollywood really care about “freedom of speech”, or is it “freedom of $peech”?

-Probing interviews with Hollywood “icons” such as Spielberg, Oliver Stone, Oprah, Tarantino, George Clooney, Bob DeNiro, Schwarzeneger, etc.?

-Interviews with non-stars who have never received a royalty, to find out why.

-Execs and employees of companies that host data, but who have not been arrested... such as Google and Yahoo.

-Who are these alleged "miscreants" who dare to share files?

-How much money has really been stolen? And how do the government lawyers arrive at these humongous dollar amounts in "Piracy Booty"?

-The runaway spy culture will be covered. Does the government really need to know what you are reading and watching on every single device?

-We will examine SWAT-Teams-Gone-Wild. Why SWAT when a polite knock on the door would yield the same result?

-How do SWAT teams always get such great video coverage? How can you become a SWAT Team member?

-US global prosecution, persecution and assassinations - using law, stealth, mercenaries, drones and Hollywood stars.

-Interviews with famous ‘information sharing’ casualties to include Kim Dotcom, Edward Snowden, Julian Assange, Bradley Manning to name a few… -Interviews with the "terrorist" family who Googled both a pressure cooker and a backpack, which resulted in a Federal SWAT team breaking down their front door.

-And an interview with the original “Leaker” Dr. Daniel Ellsberg whose release of the “Pentagon Papers”, in his words- "demonstrated unconstitutional behavior by a succession of presidents, the violation of their oath and the violation of the oath of every one of their subordinates". He added that he leaked the Papers to end what he perceived to be "a wrongful war".

Editing will be done by a team of highly experienced documentary editors - in an "undisclosed locations".In the end, we will have a 90-110 minute piece that will be compelling, entertaining, enlightening and extremely effective in bringing massive attention to this dirty little war. Madden anticipates that It will be banned from the normal distribution channels - but he says that's o.k., "... because we are not afraid of sharing."

Fast-tracked, Madden reckons that this is a 9-12 month undertaking, starting today. But he expects that the specter of such a film being made will have an immediate positive effect. His final comment - "No one wants to end up being the villain in a movie… especially in a fact-based documentary movie."
