Nobel Peace Prize Nominee Speaking At University of Waikato
Free Presentation By Dr. Jeff Halper at University of Waikato on September 4th
Dr. Jeff Halper is an Israeli peace activist who co-founded and directs the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions (ICAHD). Dr. Halper is internationally respected for his pioneering work in developing new forms of non-violent resistance and civil disobedience and was nominated alongside Palestinian activist Ghassan Andoni for a Nobel Peace Prize. He has been active in social justice and civil rights movements since the 1960s and has authored several books about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Dr. Halper will be speaking about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict at the University of Waikato on Wednesday the 4th of September from 12:00 until 14:30 in lecture theatre AG.30.
Anyone with an interest in human rights, Middle Eastern politics or the tradition of non-violent resistance is encouraged to attend. The talk is being hosted by Waikato Students for Justice in the Middle East(SJME), it is free and open to all interested members of the public.
