Animal Strike petition already at 30,000 signatures
Today, 26 September, all the Animals in NZ are on strike to protest against the law that has made it legal to use animal testing for synthetic party drugs in NZ.
Animal related blogs, Youtube channels and social media pages have come on board - instead of posting their usual cute photos or funny videos they have posted strike messages.
Animal Strike has been trending on twitter, with #animalstrike beating out America’s Cup at one point this morning.
Here are just some of the
animals striking in support of the protest today:

New Zealanders have shown their support and as of midday today Paw Justice had over 30,000 petition signatures, over 1000 retweets with thousands of shares on Facebook.
But we need more! The goal is to reach a total of 50,000 signatures for a petition to submit to a select committee in parliament on the 4th October.
So we need all of New Zealand to get behind the cause. Go to http://www.animalstrike.co.nz to sign the petition.
