Conservatives Double their Percentage in Christchurch East
December 2 2013
Colin Craig is applauding Conservative Party candidate Leighton Baker for his very credible performance in the Christchurch East by-election.
“Not only has Leighton doubled the percentage vote that he got last election, but he has also successfully promoted the Conservative Party brand and won the party a lot of supporters,” he says.
Leighton has achieved 3.65% of the vote, up from 1.8% last election.
“This is a good indicator that we are on track for next year’s general election,” says Mr. Craig.
Mr Baker has assured the electorate he will
continue to work on their behalf, and commended the Labour
Candidate on her success.
“I would like to
congratulate Poto Williams on her outstanding result. She
has worked hard, and she has a huge amount to achieve in the
next twelve months,” Mr. Baker says.
“We appreciate the support we have gained over the campaign and are really pleased to cement our place as the 4th highest polling party,” Mr. Baker says.
