Len Brown Must Pay for EY Report
Councillor Dick Quax has written to Auckland Council Chief Executive, Doug McKay urging him to bill Len Brown for the costs incurred by council for the Ernst and Young Report which looked into Mr Brown’s use of council resources while he was engaged in a relationship with Ms Bevan Chuang.
According to Mr Quax the EY Report would have been avoided had the mayor acted in good faith when questions first arose about his affair with Ms Chuang.
“It is only because the mayor has acted in bad faith, has been careless in his duty, stonewalled and misled the council and people of Auckland that provided grounds for the chief executive to commission the EY Report.”
“The mayor must be held responsible for his actions and pay the costs not the ratepayers of Auckland.”
