Chickens will protest today

Today animal rights activists dressed as chickens will
gather outside Yovich & Co in Whangarei. The directors of
Yovich & Co are funding what will be New Zealand's largest
caged hen factory farm.
"Walter Yovich, a director of Yovich & Co, is also a major shareholder and director of Craddock Farms Limited. This company is proposing to build a massive factory farm that would see over 300,000 hens confined to cruel cages," says Stop Craddock Farms spokesperson Deirdre Sims.
"Auckland City Council has already declined Craddock Farms application but they are appealing in the Environment Court. If building goes ahead it will entrench cages are the future of egg farming in our country. We want to see a ban on all cages for hens so we're working hard to stop them," says Ms. Sims.
