Conservative Party on the Right Track says Colin Craig

Conservative Party on the Right Track says Colin Craig:

“The Conservative Party is on the right track” says Colin Craig, who says he received email advice from the Membership Manager over the weekend that there would be an election of a new board.

“The election of new board members is something that happens in every non-election year and it has never proved too hard for the party in the past.” Says Mr Craig “The Party has fantastic depth and there will be no shortage of great people to step up and do the job”.

In response to questions as to whether he would stand for the board Mr Craig has advised “I have already said I will be consulting with supporters before I put my name forward for any position in the party. I am not intending to stand for the board.”

“I am interested in representing people and as long as I have their support I am happy to keep going” says Mr Craig

Response to Mr Stringer and claims that Craig’s Membership has been suspended :

“Unfortunately Mr Stringer is failing to understand the proper processes” says Mr Craig “My advice directly from the then chairman Mr Brian Dobbs is that Mr Stringer was suspended from the party and thereby the Board early on the afternoon on Thursday 25th June 2015”

“Disciplinary matters are confidential and although I was on the board at the time matters of concern about Mr Stringer were first raised I am unable to speak to the detail of this matter”.

“Given that Mr Stringer is not currently a member of the party he has no business holding himself out in any capacity as its representative. I therefore do not accept any subsequent suspension of my own membership.”

“I am happy that I have a fair agreement with the party to review the allegations that have been made about me and expect to have a fair hearing on matters in due course.” Says Mr Craig

Progress on Lifting Confidentiality regarding McGregor:

Last Tuesday 23rd June 2015 Mr Craig sought approval from Ms Macgregor to lift confidentiality around allegations of sexual harassment. “It’s important to get the whole truth out about this matter to dispel unfounded rumours” Mr Craig said

Mr Craig advised the wording of the proposal put to Ms MacGregor’s legal representative was as follows:

Given what has occurred over the last few days, Mr Craig believes it is highly desirable for both parties to be able to disclose and discuss whatever documents they see fit in order to respond to the allegations that have been widely circulated to the media, board members, and elsewhere. For that reason Mr Craig will agree to such disclosure on the basis Ms MacGregor also agrees to it.

This proposed agreement is on the basis that both parties reserve all their legal rights in relation to the actions taken by the other party to date.

“After initially no response, which was disappointing,” says Colin Craig “I can advise that the parties have now begun a discussion which I hope will allow further disclosure.”

“I will further advise progress when there is some.” says Mr Craig
