Councillors Confirmed to Speak at Rates Ripoff Rally

Auckland City Councillors Christine Fletcher and Ross Clow have confirmed that they will speak at the Rates Ripoff Rally on Sunday August 16th. Both of these Councillors opposed and voted against the most recent Auckland rates increases.

Ray Calver says “People will receive their rates bill this week and with Auckland rates increasing on average 9.9% there will be tens of thousands of people who will struggle to cover this. I think it’s great that Christine and Ross are getting behind this cause, and I’m sure the public will be interested in what they have to say”

The following speakers have been confirmed:

Christine Fletcher – Auckland City Councillor

Ross Clow – Auckland City Councillor

Stephen Berry – Affordable Auckland Mayoral Candidate

Penny Bright – Anti-corruption Public Watchdog & Auckland Mayoral Candidate

Lisa Prager – Spokesperson for Westmere Heritage Association

Bruce Rogan – Chair of the Mangawhai Residents and Ratepayers Association

Anne-Marie Coury – Grey Power

The Rates Ripoff Rally will take place at 1pm on Sunday August 16th at Aotea Square Auckland.
