WorkSafe New Zealand understands that comments made outside the court following the Paul Burr trial in the Palmerston North High Court suggested that WorkSafe had laid the manslaughter charge.
This is incorrect.
WorkSafe laid charges under the Health and Safety in Employment Act in June 2014.
Police laid the manslaughter charge in September 2014.
