Media statement from Te Rūnanga-Ā-Iwi O Ngāpuhi Board
Raniera Tau was granted a leave of absence from Te Rūnanga-Ā-Iwi O Ngāpuhi in October. Carol Dodd is the current acting chair, Wane Wharerau is the acting deputy-chair.
The Board will give full consideration to Mr Tau's recent court appearance and determine the most appropriate course of action. It is inappropriate to comment further while matters relating to Mr Tau are still before the court.
The Rūnanga will continue to conduct it’s daily business in the best interests of all Ngāpuhi, and looks forward to hosting another successful Ngāpuhi Festival in January 2016.
