Wellington Regional Council elections, 8 October 2016

Wellington Regional Council elections, 8 October 2016

Election results for the Wellington Regional Council election will be available on our website at www.gw.govt.nz/results fromSaturday 8 October.

We will update the website from 3:00pm with results as we receive them. We will announce results for each constituency as they arrive. The results on our website may be a mixture of progress and preliminary results, though we may have some preliminary results from 6:00pm onward. We have advised candidates that that if preliminary results are not available by 9:00pm on Election Day we will release progress results at that time. Formal public notification of final results will follow in about one week. Candidate lists and their candidate profile statements can be found on our website as at www.gw.govt.nz/candidates/

Current councillors continue to serve until the date of the public notice of the final election results, with the new triennium starting the following day. The inaugural meeting of the new Council will take place on Wednesday 26 October, at which the election of the Council Chair and Deputy Chair will occur.

Please do not call the Greater Wellington Regional Council offices for information on election day.
