Chief of Defence Force to Attend Conference on Countering Violent Extremism
The Chief of Defence Force, Lieutenant General (LTGEN) Tim Keating, is visiting the United States to take part in a conference on countering violent extremism.
The conference, being held in Washington DC tomorrow, will be attended by Chiefs of Defence and senior representatives from defence forces of a significant number of countries.
“It will be a valuable opportunity for me and my counterparts to engage on this important issue,” says LTGEN Keating.
The conference will include a range of briefings on issues related to violent extremism, and provide valuable information to and from those participating.
“It’s important that New Zealand participates in such events, and that we are updated on issues affecting other parts of the world.”
