Racist Pamphlet Outrages Dunne
Ohariu
MP Hon Peter Dunne has condemned pamphlets being distributed
in the Ohariu electorate by a group called the Rolling
Thunder as “disgraceful, despicable racist bigotry.”
He says two pamphlets about Treaty of Waitangi issues have been dropped in Ohariu letterboxes in recent days.
“Ohariu is a vibrantly multicultural electorate and the views expressed in these leaflets stand in stark opposition to the values I have had continually expressed to me by the people of this diverse, open and tolerant electorate.
“I acknowledge the right to free speech, but I am nonetheless outraged that this type of nasty, racist drivel is being circulated by some anonymous group.
“I encourage people who equally offended that racists are at work in our community to show them and their publications the time-honoured Order of the Bin,” Mr Dunne says.
