Labour Auckland Council candidate for Maungakiekie Tamaki
The Labour candidate for the Maungakiekie Tamaki ward is pledging to work with the Government to secure a win-win for the community on the Point England Settlement matter.
She says the previous National Government rammed through the settlement without talking to the community.
“I stood with a large number of local residents on that matter and pledge to finding a better way that delivers a just treaty settlement for Ngati Paoa while preserving much needed open space at Pt England.”
Ms Bartley, who is also local board chair, says she’ll work with all to find a sound way forward.
“The Mangakiekie Tamaki ward needs a councillor who will be a strong voice for the community when tough issues arise and I will be that person.”
“But to do to that the community has to elect me as Councillor.”
Ms Bartley says she’s
in it for the long haul and her pledge is to fight for all
local issues big and
small.
