Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has invited Jordan Carter, CEO of Internet New Zealand, to chair the Voices for Action meeting on Tuesday 14 May in Paris ahead of the Christchurch Call summit on 15 May.

Voices for Action will see human rights advocates and supporters, technical experts, academics and think tanks, gather to offer perspectives to countering violent extremism online.

The meeting provides an opportunity for civil society to generate ideas for supporting the implementation of the Call and to identify ways to overcome any barriers that may hinder its ongoing success.

InternetNZ operates at the intersection between public policy and the Internet community, holding a unique position to foster these conversations.

"Civil society has an important role in the success of the Christchurch Call," Cater says.

"InternetNZ intends to hold the New Zealand Government accountable to the pledge it makes on 15 May in accordance with our organisational purpose of helping New Zealanders to harness the power of the Internet."

Cater will also be attending the Christchurch Call summit on 15 May.

Carter is experienced in Internet policy and governance debates through the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) environment, and through participation in United Nations forums such as the Internet Governance Forum.
