Have We Never Been Woke? American Sociologist And Author, Musa Al-Gharbi, To Tour With Free Speech Union
The Free Speech Union is delighted to bring Musa al-Gharbi to New Zealand for their next tour to continue expanding the conversation on the challenges and importance of free speech in modern society and to promote al-Gharbi’s new book, We Have Never Been Woke: The Cultural Contradictions of a New Elite, says Nathan Seiuli of the Free Speech Union.
“Musa al-Gharbi is an American author, sociologist, and assistant professor at Stony Brook University’s School of Communication and Journalism in New York. We are thrilled to tour New Zealand with him in July to promote his new book.
“A leading voice on cultural and political discourse, Musa’s work unpacks how we construct shared understandings around issues like inequality, identity, extremism, and US politics.
"He previously served as communications director at Heterodox Academy, founded by Jonathan Haidt and Nicholas Quinn Rosenkranz, working to illuminate today's most pressing social debates.
“Our tour with Musa al-Gharbi will run from Sunday, 13th July until Friday, 18th July, with events happening in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin.
“We look forward to this tour furthering conversations in New Zealand about the necessity of free speech in our nation.”
