More Malodorous Hypocrisy From Compulsion Touters
"Dissecting ACT's health policy is like cutting into a colostomy bag, only the smell is worse," says Libertarianz Deputy Richard McGrath today. Speaking from his Wairarapa medical practice, Dr McGrath denounced the policy which, he said, makes a nonsense of ACT's supposed core principles.
"ACT's own constitution says that governments should not assume the responsibilities incumbent upon individuals," says McGrath. "It says that people are the rightful owners of their lives. Then, displaying their rank hypocrisy, their health policy advocates compulsory insurance coverage for children, and the retention of the public health system."
"The 'die-while-you-wait' public health infrastructure has become engorged on the blood of taxpayers," responds McGrath. "To retain a public health system means retaining the services of Graham Holland's IRD, who ACT's own Rodney Hide has sharply criticised in a recent book."
"Unlike the Association of Compulsion Touters, Libertarianz would put a stop to the billions of dollars extracted from taxpayers that keep this monster alive. It should be clear to all by now - a vote for ACT is a vote for more of this posturing hypocrisy!"
