Pigs for Parts

The recent announcement of cloning pigs for human parts should be taken with great caution.

Firstly, cloning does not remove the ‘sleeping’ viruses which are endogenous to pigs (or other animals) The research was not published in a scientific journal and, therefore, will not be peer reviewed. This news item was released solely to promote investment.

Human GE experimentation, driven almost exclusively by corporate profit, is reaching corrupt proportions. There has been a recent clamp-down on gene therapy trials in the USA because of deaths - ostensibly unreported.

These, together with xenotransplants like the baboon liver causing an endogenous baboon virus to attack and kill the patient, are examples of the hidden dangers inherent in this technology.

As the Canadian Geneticist, Professor Cummins, said " Failure to conduct safe human trials should be made a criminal offence."
