New Zealand Wireless Data Forum provides valuable resource for
businesses embarking on new technology

The New Zealand Wireless Data Forum (NZWDF) was established in response to the growing need for information and education on the wireless data options available and how they can be implemented. Developed as a market educating and information-sharing organisation, the NZWDF has become a valuable tool for companies looking to invest in wireless data technology or researching future technologies.

The NZWDF has grown rapidly since it formation in late 1999 and the network now includes a comprehensive range of members providing a full range of industry expertise. Anyone interested in developing wireless data solutions is able to tap into this resource simply by pre-registering free of charge through the web site. Members include cellular network carriers, handset manufacturers, infrastructural suppliers, software developers, systems integrators and traditional channels to market such as retailers.

President and Founder of the Wireless Data Forum, Luigi Cappel, explains that the forum was established in the spirit of mutual co-operation. “Wireless Data is here now and the possibilities are endless. All our members have specialised knowledge and experience of the industry and are focussed on developing effective, cost-saving solutions for business communications. The forum is a very effective way of gathering this vast knowledge into an important information and educational resource. It has resulted in an extensive network of people with specific skills working alongside each other to provide solutions,” he says.

The New Zealand Wireless Data Forum web site is the first point of contact and offers comprehensive market information, news and access to companies involved in providing wireless data technology in New Zealand. The Forum also runs quarterly seminars that each focus on a topical industry issue with presentations by specialist guest speakers. The seminars also include an exhibition featuring the latest in products and technological developments.

The Wireless Data Forum offers members the opportunity to access the member’s database to locate the skills and services that may be required for a specific project. The forum is also available as a resource for the media.
